A Maryland native, Joanna Dionis has been on the OOT roster since
spring of 2006. The mezzo-soprano has appeared with Amato Opera, the
Brooklyn Conservatory, One World Symphony, and Susan Morton's "Sing
Through Central" series. Favorite roles include Cornelia, Cherubino,
Nicklausse, Emilia, Madelon, and Mercedes. Ms. Dionis earned her
bachelor's degree from Stanford University and her M.F.A. from Sarah
Lawrence College. This summer, she will sing the Prioress in Dialogues
des Carmelites under the direction of Met stage director Yefim Maizel
in San Francisco. Ms. Dionis studies in the studio of Nancy Adams. She
lives in Brooklyn.
