Stefanie Block recently moved to New York from Santiago, Chile, where she was studying on a Fulbright Scholarship.  While in Chile, Stefanie sang opera on a city bus converted into “a place for the diffusion of art” by a Chilean-government grant (FUNDART).  She is currently appearing as Magaera in the original musical, Wake Her Up, and is a member of the Village Light Opera Group and Teatro SEA, New York’s only Latino arts-in-education theater troupe.   Previous roles include “Gretel” in Hansel and Gretel and “1st Spirit” in The Magic Flute with the El Paso Opera Company.
