Jennifer Winn
Originally from Syracuse, NY, Jennifer Winn is a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia, as well as the University of Memphis where she was a Hohenberg-Scheit scholar (performing assistantship). Ms. Winn has sung with various regional companies including Boheme Opera NJ, Opera North, Opera Memphis, Syracuse Opera, Operafest! Of New Hampshire, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Ashlawn-Highland Summer Music Festival. She has also been the recipent of several awards for her singing and is particularly proud to have been the recipient of the Stage Presence Award at the 2000 Mid-South Region of the Metropolitan Opera's National Council auditions, in addition to taking second place. Ms. Winn placed second again in this region in 2002.
Jennifer's operatic repertoire includes such roles as Micaéla, Violetta, Susannah (Floyd), Pamina, First Lady, Donna Anna, & Konstanze. She is also no stranger to musical theatre having sung various “cross-over” roles throughout her career.
Ms. Winn's recent engagments include the role of Alice in Peter Westergaard's new opera Alice in Wonderland (Center for Contemporary Opera - NY Times review), Mrs. Hayes in Carlyle Floyd's Susannah! (Boheme Opera of NJ), and soprano soloist in Mozart's Requiem and Saint-Säens' Christmas Oratorio (Middletown City Chorale). She was also a guest soloist with The Sun Coast Choral in Sarasota Florida to great acclaim.
