The Concept
New Brew is Opera on Tap's Contemporary Collective of Performers/ Performance Curators. With the like-minded goal of progressing the operatic and classical vocal genre, New Brew members will showcase the work of 20th and 21st century composers in a theatrical and entertaining context. Designed to explore new and diverse work that a modern audience will potentially respond to, the program is piloting at Barbes over the course of 2009/ 2010. Each member of New Brew will curate a program that the ensemble will produce and perform, utilizing other OOT members when necessary.
Composer Submissions
New Brew is accepting online submissions from composers interested in working with the ensemble. NO HARD COPIES OF SCORES AND DVDS/ CDS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Email newbrew@operaontap.com with the following:
- Links to MP3s of two contrasting exemplary pieces
- Attach accompanying PDF files for the MP3 files
